COLORADO, USA — Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) will increase the Daily Vehicle Parks Pass fee for each of Colorado’s 41 state parks starting this weekend.
The price of a Daily Vehicle Park Pass will increase by $1 at most state parks, effective Sunday, March 1, 2020.
While the pass will be $9 for most state parks, a Daily Vehicle Park Pass will be $10 for Chatfield, Boyd Lake and Eldorado Canyon state parks, and $11 for Cherry Creek State Park in Aurora.
The daily vehicle pass fee increase was approved by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission in January 2020. CPW says the increase will help manage the rise in property maintenance needs and operational costs associated with the growing number of park visitors.
CPW says the price of an Annual Park Pass and Commercial Park Pass will remain unchanged in 2020.
Additional money from park license sales, passes and permits will go towards improving Colorado parks, lands and recreation, as per the Future Generations Act, according to CPW.
