ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK — Just in time for weekend camping, Rocky Mountain National Park has lifted its complete fire ban that was put in place earlier this month due to extreme fire danger.
That means fires are allowed in designated campfire rings within picnic areas and front-country campgrounds.
The use of disposable and portable charcoal grills, wood fuel camp stoves and gas grills are also allowed.
Fireworks are always prohibited within the park.
RMNP enacted a complete fire ban on July 6 due to extreme fire danger. It was the first time since 2012 where Stage 2 fire restrictions were put in place at the park.
Current weather conditions led to the complete fire ban being lifted. Stage 1 restrictions are always in place at the park.
Visitors are reminded to use caution regarding the use of fire in authorized locations.
