Here's who's playing at Grandoozy on Friday and when

Wondering if you should see Jade Bird or Andy Frasco & the U.N.? Or maybe you're torn between Phoenix and Miguel - we're here to help!

There are so many bands at Grandoozy - Denver's first big music festival in the same vein of Bonnaroo - at Overland Park this weekend and a lot of them are playing at the same times.

So, to help you decide who to see, here's a quick rundown of the acts - starting at the top of the card and going down each day. Check out Saturday and then Sunday here.

TRANSPORTATION | How to get to the Grandoozy music festival this weekend

HELPFUL | What you can and can't bring into the festival

Also, remember, just because there are no competing acts doesn't mean you can hit up all these shows in a row. If you do that, and you're walking from stage to stage, you're likely to be in the back and have a terrible view. There's also other stuff to do.

From our early understanding, "Rock" is Grandoozy's main stage, followed by "Paper" and "Scissors" as the two others.

Let's get down the who's where and when.

KENDRICK LAMAR

Stage: Rock

Time: 8:30 - 9:40 p.m. - only act at this time

Genre: Hip hop

Popularity: Everyone will be there - so maybe get to his stage early so you're not way in the back.

Live show experience: Varies, but always quite the show

What live show? Made in America festival in Philadelphia. This is likely a good example of what the show will look like since it's a similar festival at heart:

THE WAR ON DRUGS

Stage: Paper

Time: 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. - no competing acts

Genre: Americana/Indie rock

Popularity: An Americana rock mainstay, they'll have a ton of people there

What live show? This band can PLAY, y'all. Here's a 2-hour live show from four months ago so you can see how talented they really are.

MIGUEL

Stage: Rock

Time: 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. - at the same time as Phoenix

Genre: R&B, Pop

Popularity: Not quite as big as Frank Ocean (indeed, the pair has had some beef), but extremely popular - get there early.

What live show? This is a link to a full Miguel concert from earlier this year. You can really get a feel for his vibe and attitude during a long live set.

PHOENIX

Stage: Scissors

Time: 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. - at the same time as Miguel

Genre: Indie pop

Popularity: This French quartet has been around a long time and has enjoyed massive success in hipster and not-so-hipster circles, so definitely get to the stage early if you want a good look.

What live show? There are tons to pick from, but you can't go wrong selecting one from their hometown of Paris. This is from just three months ago, so it's a good bet this is what they'll sound like.

BIG K.R.I.T.

Stage: Paper

Time: 5:30 - 6:30 p.m - no competing acts

Genre: Hip Hop

Popularity: Waning a bit but definitely has plenty of diehard fans

What live show? This isn't festival video, but if you want to get to know the vibe of an artist, NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts are great for that, and this one really shows off his range. Like he's a rapper, but wow he can sing, too.

TY DOLLA $IGN

Stage: Rock

Time: 4:45 - 5:30 p.m. - same time as Bishop Briggs

Genre: Hip hop

Popularity: Definitely a huge act - get there early!

What live show? Honestly, his performance is up in the air due to a recent arrest, but if he goes, he'll likely mimic this show - it's from early this year.

BISHOP BRIGGS

Stage: Scissors

Time: 4:45 - 5:30 p.m. - same time as Ty Dolla $ign

Genre: Singer-songwriter

Popularity: Her single "River" is pretty big, so she'll have plenty of people there. Plus that VOICE! Wow...

What live show? Here's her performing "River" live - to give you a good idea of what her sound and performance look like.

TENNIS

Stage: Paper

Time: 4 - 4:45 p.m. - no competing acts

Genre: Indie pop/Twee

Popularity: They've been around a long time and will definitely have tons there

What live show? This one's from 2014, but it's great and gives you a good rundown of what the sound's like live.

JADE BIRD

Stage: Scissors

Time: 3:15 - 4 p.m. - same time as Andy Frasco & The U.N.

Genre: Americana/Country

Popularity: Growing but not massive...

What live show? Check out this "Microshow" from June - it starts with her and a guitar. Classic live festival fare.

ANDY FRASCO & THE U.N.

Stage: Rock

Time: 3:15 - 4 p.m. - same time as Jade Bird

Genre: Blues/rock

Popularity: Active since 2007, they'll definitely have plenty at their set

What live show? Live from SXSW in 2016, this performance of "Blame It On The Pussy" shows you exactly what to expect when you go see them. They're tongue-in-cheek and have quite the groovy sound.

BAYONNE

Stage: Paper

Time: 2:30 - 3:15 p.m. - no competing acts

Genre: Electronic/Folk

Popularity: Roger Sellers (Bayonne) has been around for a bit, expect a lively crowd

What live show? Bayonne uses his own looper and kit while playing multiple instruments. To get a sense of his set and the crowds, check out this set from Lincoln Hall in Chicago from about a year ago.

FLAURAL (LOCAL)

Stage: Paper

Time: 2 - 2:30 p.m. - same time as AMZY

Genre: Psychedelic

Popularity: This Denver-based group is about to set out on tour, but before they go they're hitting up Grandoozy.

What live show? Here they are in Chicago from 2017. You can just hear that ethereal but just chill vibes pretty well in this.

AMZY (LOCAL)

Stage: Rock

Time: 2 - 2:30 p.m. - same time as Flaural

Genre: Alt-rock/Synth

Popularity: They're kicking off the main stage on the first day, so they'll definitely have a big crowd

What live show? Here they are at Bluebird in 2015. You can't get better than a live hometown show. Check them out.

That's it for Friday on the festival's stages.
