NASHVILLE, TN - SEPTEMBER 12: Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats attend the 2018 Americana Music Honors and Awards at Ryman Auditorium on September 12, 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee.

DENVER — Denver-based Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats are headlining a concert this weekend aimed at bringing attention to the issue of gun violence.

The band, along with Rateliff’s foundation, The Marigold Project are hosting events in the Mile High City called "Not One More," which will focus on gun violence prevention.

From 9 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. on October 13, the group will host workshops, panels and training sessions on the topic of gun violence at Industry Denver located at 3001 Brighton Boulevard. Those interested can RSVP to workshops ahead of time.

The band had initially planned a concert and rally for Sunday, October 14, but due to winter weather in the forecast, those events will now happen on Saturday, October 13 at Levitt Pavilion.

Doors open at 1 p.m., with the concert and rally scheduled to go from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Joining the band will be special guests Kam Franklin of The Suffers, Los Mocochetes and the Denver Children’s Choir.

General sale tickets went on sale October 5 for $18 each plus fees. Organizers say all proceeds from the event will go towards nonprofit organizations dedicated to gun violence prevention.

Nathaniel Rateliff elaborated on the reasons why the band is participating in the rally and concert on his Instagram page:

“These students are what courage looks like. We are proud to support them in their efforts to ensure that our schools and neighborhoods are free from gun violence. We are partnering with incredible local and national nonprofit partners who have dedicated their lives to eradicating gun violence through civic engagement. We believe that we can find common ground on this issue and keep our children safe. When we see the youth of the world wanting to make change happen, us as their elders need to respond in the correct way and listen. So it is our responsibly to try to learn and to try to create community amongst each other. We need to understand each other better as individuals and as people and other cultures, and continue to make a global community that we can build upon and to continue to have something for our children and our children’s children.” (Link in bio) #NotOneMore #EndGunViolence
