Where to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Colorado this weekend

Festivals, parades and fun events are planned across Colorado to celebrate Cinco de Mayo 2019.

COLORADO, USA — Although often incorrectly-labeled as Mexican Independence Day, Cinco de Mayo actually commemorates the victory of an outnumbered Mexican army over the French forces of Napoleon III at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.

Cinco de Mayo is now a celebration of Latino culture and the tradition of freedom.

Cities, towns, bars and restaurants across Colorado are hosting celebrations on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5, with food and drink specials and entertainment.
