Baxter International Inc., a maker of medical devices, says it plans initially to lay off 106 workers at the Douglas County manufacturing facility it is closing.
The layoff total was revealed in a notice filed with the state under the Worker Readjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act as required in cases where mass layoffs are planned.
The DBJ's Monica Mendoza first reported Baxter's closure plans on April 6, but it was not known then how many workers would be let go.
Baxter now says it plans to close the facility, which has an Englewood postal address, by March 31 next year.
