DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL — Denver residents certainly know it, but now a study has made it official: Denver is one of the best cities in America and the world.

The Mile High City ranked as the No. 16 best city in the U.S. and the No. 37 best city in the world on reports crafted by Vancouver, British Columbia-based Resonance Consultancy Ltd., a global adviser on tourism, real estate and economic development. In the 2018 “America’s Best Cities” report, Denver earned high marks for its key institutions, attractions and infrastructure as well as its economic climate.

To create the list of the 50 best cities in America, Resonance looked at 28 factors, which included user-generated ratings and reviews in digital channels such as TripAdvisor as well as demographic data. For the list of the best 100 global cities, the company examined 23 factors. Both studies divided these factors into six categories:

- Place, which includes air quality, weather, crime rate, commute times and parks.
- Product, which includes attractions, airports, university rankings, sports and housing affordability.
