COLORADO, USA — Andres Gil Zaldana, who has served as executive director for the past two-plus years for the Colorado Brewers Guild, will leave his post on June 30 to spend time with family.
Gil Zaldana guided the the industry group for the $3 billion craft beer sector in this state through a tumultuous period. He took over shortly after the resolution of a split among members that temporarily created a second industry group in the state and that left it solely focused on independent breweries rather than those owned by international conglomerates.
He led it through the intense debate over liquor-sales legislation in the Legislature in 2018 that resulted in full-strength beer being sold at all Colorado grocery stores for the first time beginning at the start of this year.
“I’m proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish with the Board of Directors and our team,” Gil Zaldana said. “We have worked hard to make the transition into grocery and convenience store sales as smooth as possible. We have worked hard to defend our taproom rights and address issues we would have never dreamed of.”
