DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL — If you noticed anything strange on the Poudre River between Sept. 19 and Sept. 21, Colorado Parks and Wildlife wants to hear from you.

Tips from the public could help the agency determine what killed thousands of fish on the Poudre River between Lemay Avenue and Timberline Road in Fort Collins last month.

Anyone who noticed changes in water quality or fish behavior in the affected area between those dates is encouraged to contact CPW’s Fort Collins office at 970-472-4300.

Officials have taken water samples and surveyed fish population in the area of the fish kill, according to a CPW press release. The agency has an idea of how many fish died in the incident but isn't yet releasing that estimate, spokesman Jason Clay said.
