DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL — Denver International Airport is the best airport in the U.S., according to the first-ever Wall Street Journal U.S. airport rankings, which scored the top 20 biggest U.S. airports across 15 categories and surveyed more than 4,800 WSJ readers on categories including overall experience, ease of use, security and restaurants.

"Once a symbol of high cost and dysfunction, Denver soared in rankings of reliability, value and convenience," said the Journal. Denver was the only airport to place in the top four in each of those three categories.

The Journal also cites competition of three major airlines — United, Southwest and Frontier — as a factor in DIA's performance.

All three airlines big in Denver compete head-to-head on some routes, and so far, it’s working.
