Denver Business Journal — A merger of two large law firms means growth of its Denver office.
Milwaukee-based Foley & Lardner LLP completed its merger with Dallas-based Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP, one of the largest law firms in Texas. Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP has an office in downtown Denver.
Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP is among the 200 largest law firms in the country and one of the largest in the Southwest with about 250 attorneys. Foley & Lardner is larger with about 870 attorneys and will continue doing business under its own name.
Foley & Lardner had confirmed in November 2017 that talks were underway between the two firms. On Friday, Foley announced completing the transaction, which takes effect April 1.
