Former P&G manager to join DaVita C-suite

Former Procter & Gamble Co. manager John Winstel has been hired to serve as the next chief accounting officer of DaVita Inc., the Denver-based Fortune 500 company that is the largest provider of kidney care services in the United States.

Winstel joined Procter & Gamble in 2002 and rose to be associate director of finance while based in Cincinnati with the maker of consumer goods such as Tampax tampons (NYSE: PG).

He has joined DaVita (NYSE: DVA) as group vice president of accounting but will become chief accounting officer when Jim Hilger steps down from that role, which is expected no later than March 3, 2020.

Through DaVita Kidney Care the company treats patients with chronic kidney failure and end-stage renal disease. As of June 30, DaVita served 204,900 patients at 2,723 outpatient dialysis centers in the United States. The company also operated 248 outpatient dialysis centers in nine countries worldwide.

Winstel reports to Davita CFO Joel Ackerman.
