Larimer Square to be sold for first time in nearly 30 years

The owner of the iconic downtown Denver block plans to sell Larimer Square after 27 years of stewardship.

DENVER — The owner of Larimer Square plans to sell the historic district after 27 years of stewardship, according to a recent letter to tenants notifying them of the coming sale.

The property is currently on the market, and no potential buyers have been named publicly.

Jeff Hermanson, CEO of Larimer Associates, has owned the stretch of Larimer Street between 14th and 15th Streets through a variety of entities since 1993, according to property records.

In a letter to tenants dated Oct. 29 and obtained by Denver Business Journal, Hermanson said his goal is to "find a new owner who will not only respect and appreciate the legacy of this historic Denver landmark, but will also bring the dedication and capability to usher in a new era of vitality."

In a statement provided to DBJ, Hermanson said he looks forward to spending more time in Crested Butte and starting a new chapter with his family.
