DENVER — A recent report from Apartment List, a San Francisco-based online rental marketplace, shows cities where the most users are looking for apartments, and Denver ranked No. 1.

The report, based on Apartment List user searches between June 1, 2019 and Dec. 31, 2019, found Denver was the most-searched city, with 48% of metro searches, tracked by users' IP addresses or the user’s listed location. Rounding out the top five metros, in order, were Baltimore, San Diego, Tampa and San Francisco.

Washington, D.C., attracted the most renters searching in Denver, accounting for 10.5% of inbound searches from outside the metro, compared to just 2.4% coming from San Francisco and 1.1% coming from Seattle.

"It may be that as the tech industry bears increased scrutiny, Denver area startups are finding it increasingly important to attract workers with policy backgrounds and connections," Apartment List notes.
