DENVER — Much of the world was on pause in December 2020, but Vectra Bank was just digging in — literally — to the company's vision of a new corporate center.
The nine-story, $67 million headquarters at Interstate 25 and Belleview Station broke ground in late 2020, a time when many business owners were questioning whether to hang on to leased office space that employees may never use. Those really weren't concerns for Vectra Bank, said President and CEO Bruce Alexander.
"We were the primary user of the building," Alexander said. "We didn’t have a rental risk — we knew we would occupy it."
That allowed Vectra Bank's leadership and the site developer to look past the challenges of the pandemic and toward the company's long-term goals, amounting to "visionary design elements" that Alexander said underscore the bank's intentional presence and growth and Colorado.
The resulting 127,000 square feet of office, retail and coworking space at 7222 E. Layton Ave. in Denver's Hampden South neighborhood opened to employees last month.
