A California-based diner chain, with locations already in the Colorado Springs area, is expanding into the Denver market with a new location opening in Westminster.

Black Bear Diner was founded in Mount Shasta, California in 1995. The chain currently has three Colorado Springs area (two in Colorado Springs, one in Fountain) locations and now is operating in the Denver market at 10393 Reed St., off of US Route 36.

A Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant formerly occupied the space.

The new Westminster location is operated by the TA Restaurant Group (TARG), a division of TravelCenters of America LLC. The restaurant features the chain's fare of chicken fried steak, corned beef hash, pot roast, apple cobbler and chocolate cream pie.
