Employers who feel they are paying too much for health insurance may be interested to know that a new advocacy group launched Monday with a primary mission of reducing health care costs.

Healthier Colorado officials, who received $10 million in seed funding from theColorado Health Foundation to kick off their efforts, believe they are the first organization in the state dedicated wholly to pushing for policy changes in the health care arena, executive director Jake Williamssaid.

The three-employee organization plans to work with the Legislature and with local governments to pass laws that can make insurance more affordable and can attack the growing problem of childhood obesity among minority kids.
