KUSA - Sometimes it's hard to imagine all of the work that goes in to the products we buy, but soon people all over the country will get an inside look at how some Colorado skis are made.

On May 14, Meier Skis, which is based in Glenwood Springs, will be on the TV series "How It's Made." The documentary format series shows the background and manufacturing process for a variety of products.

Meier Skis started in 2009 and instead of relying on automated machinery, they handcraft their products out of eco-friendly materials and use sustainable production practices. The company's skis are made out of locally harvested Colorado Aspen and Pine Beetle kill wood. They are topped with clear sheets so buyers can actually see the wood.

The "How It's Made" episode featuring Meier Skis will air at 7 p.m.
