Mother’s Day is this weekend on Sunday, May 12 (as if you didn’t know, right?) and we shopped to smell the roses for you…at least, when it comes to a price comparison on adozen roses. (We only priced a basic dozen roses — nothing too fancy.) Drum roll, please!

The best price was at Trader Joe’s for $6.99.

In second place, Lucky’s Market is selling a dozen roses for $7.99. At such a low price, you might pick up two dozen roses to really show mom your love and appreciation.

Possibly more convenient, Safeway is selling a dozen roses for $10.99 and King Soopers is selling a double dozen roses for $18.88.

Most other mass market chains had a dozen roses for around $15. Of course, there are many other flowers (especially tulips) and bouquets on sale. Be sure to keep them stored as recommended, so you don’t give her wilting flowers.

Go early for the best selection. May your Mother’s Day be rosy!
