ASPEN, Colo. — A unique home set at the top of Aspen's Buttermilk Mountain has sold at auction for nearly half its former listing price.

The property, most recently owned by James Fifield, former president and chief executive of both EMI Music and The North Face, was sold with a neighboring 11.64-acre lot — the last available lot for building in the exclusive Eagle Pines community.

The 14,119-square-foot home at 350 Eagle Park Drive has eight bedrooms, six full and two half-bathrooms, and was Uruguayan architect Horacio Ravazzani's only North American project. It took more than five years to build and was completed in 1995.

The most unique feature of the design is a glass conservatory that divides the home's guest and family wings. Other highlights of home are a master bath with dueling antique marble tubs, a home theater and a 1,200-bottle wine cellar.
