For the first time in 70 years, prime Polo Club mansion hits the market at $21.5M

The 6.26-acre property is described as "a park in the middle of the city" where one would struggle to spot neighbors from the home.

DENVER — For the first time in 70 years, a property in the exclusive Polo Club subdivision of Denver's Belcaro neighborhood has gone on the market with an eye-popping asking price.

The property at 9 Polo Club Lane was listed for sale on May 7 at $21.5 million, but there's a reason for that hefty price tag, according to the property's listing agent.

"It's wildly private," Josh Behr of LIV Sotheby's International Realty told Denver Business Journal in an interview. Behr described the 6.26-acre property as "a park in the middle of the city" where one would struggle to spot neighbors from the home. Behr said the only comparable property of this size is the Phipps mansion at 3400 E. Belcaro Drive, which is set on 6.47 acres, according to public records, but surrounded by neighbors.

"In almost three-quarters of a century it has not been brought to market, and there's nothing like it. It's one of the largest estates in Denver," explained Behr, who is co-listing the property with Linda Behr.
