Denver Business Journal — The Denver home market continues to be one of the nation's hottest, with homes selling more quickly than nearly anywhere else in the country.

Two different recent real estate reports confirm that Denver's a hot market: On Thursday, online real estate broker Redfin said Denver was the nation's fastest-selling market in May, with the typical home going under contract in just six days.

Local real estate company Re/Max Holdings Inc. (NYSE: RMAX) also said Denver's homes sell fast: On Friday it reported that the metro areas with the lowest days on market in May were San Francisco and Seattle at 19 and Denver at 21. Re/Max also said that Denver's tied at No. 2 in the nation when it comes to lowest months of supply of inventory at 1.1 months behind San Francisco's one month; A six-months supply indicates a market balanced equally between buyers and sellers, Re/Max said.

Nationally, Redfin estimated that in its 174 markets that it tracks, the typical home sold in May went under contract in 34 days.
