WASHINGTON D.C., DC — Subaru of America has issued a do-not-drive notice and recall for several hundred 2021 Imprezas due to a control arm weld that may fail.

The recall involves 802 model year 2021 Imprezas, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The recall was issued because a lower control arm weld on the front driver's side may fail, which could cause the tire to contact the wheel well, possibly resulting in a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash.

Subaru owners can visit NHTSA.gov/recalls or call NHTSA’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 and enter their 17-digit vehicle identification number to see if their car is affected by the recall. Subaru will also be sending owner notification letters starting Friday.

Owners of recalled cars should not drive the car until the recall repair is completed. Dealers will inspect and replace the control arm as necessary, free of charge.

Owners with additional questions can contact Subaru’s customer service at 844-373-6614.
