Climbing gear manufacturer Omega Pacific is voluntarily recalling aluminum carabiners because they can break while in use.

Omega Pacific issued the recall after a defect was discovered during an internal quality assurance procedure.

The recall involves six models of Omega Pacific's G-FIRST series of carabiners made in Lot "OD." The carabiners have "Omega-17 UL Classified USA" on the front and "Meets NFPA 1983 17ED MBS kN 40 G" printed on the side.

The carabiners were sold in recreation equipment stores nationwide and online from February 2017 to October 2017 in black, silver and red colors.

Though no injuries have been reported, consumers should stop using the carabiners and contact Omega Pacific for a full refund.
