Grandoozy — Denver
Grandoozy will take over Denver’s Overland Park Golf Course in south Denver this weekend. The festival, which is being put on by the co-creators of Bonnaroo, features three days of music, art, beer and food. More than 50 bands will play on four different stages. Friday's lineup includes Kendrick Lamar, Miguel, Ty Dolla $ign, Andy Frasco & the U.N. and Amzy. Florence + The Machine, Sturgill Simpson, Young The Giant and Snow Tha Product are among the many performers on Saturday. Denver Broncos vs. Oakland Raiders — Denver
Week two of the NFL season is here! After a huge win against Seattle, the Denver Broncos are at home again for a game against the rival Oakland Raiders. Kickoff is set for 2:25 p.m. Sunday at Broncos Stadium at Mile High.
Vail Oktoberfest — Vail
With a gorgeous mountain backdrop and "European flair," the Vail Oktoberfest has been named one of the ten greatest Oktoberfest celebrations in the United States by USA Today. The festival, which runs Friday to Sunday, will have great Bavarian fare including brats, schnitzel sandwiches, spaetzle, pretzels and more. On the schedule this weekend are stein lifting competitions, adult keg bowling contests, bratwurst eating contests, a Bavarian costume contest and live music. Vail Oktoberfest is free and open to the public at Vail Village.
Broomfield Days — Broomfield
The annual Broomfield Days takes place on Saturday with family-friendly activities and entertainment at Broomfield's Midway Park. The day includes a 5K race, clown contest, parade, trade fair, craft festival, food booths, three stages of entertainment, demonstrations and more. Broomfield Days will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. A golf tournament sponsored by Senior Resources of Broomfield and Bingo games sponsored by the Broomfield Lions Club are scheduled on Friday.
Summerset Festival — Littleton
The sun may be setting on summer, but there's still time to experience a fun, outdoor community festival. The 2018 Summerset Festival takes place Saturday at Littleton's Clement Park from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be craft and vendor booths, the Colorado Disc Dogs, kids zone, a car show, live entertainment and beer garden with 15 local craft breweries. A safety fair with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office will have motorcycle demos, K-9 demonstrations, child fingerprinting, bomb squad, animal control, recruiting, crime prevention tips and more. Sugar Beet Days — Sterling
One of Colorado's premier festivals returns this weekend to downtown Sterling. The 37th Annual Sugar Beet Days will be held on the Historic Logan County Courthouse Square on Saturday and Sunday. The event will feature family-friendly live entertainment and over 200 food, arts and craft vendors from from Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska and Wyoming.

Miners Day — Frederick
Downtown Frederick will be home to the annual Miners Day this Saturday. The event features a parade, exhibitor booths, food/refreshment vendors, activities, contests and live entertainment. The Inaugural Frederick Miners Day Pack Burro Race will begin after the parade. The 2018 Miners Day Car Show will take over Main Street and Fourth Street next to Crist Park with amazing vehicles, music, raffle games and more. Also, the 3rd Annual Miners Day 5K run/walk is set for an 8 a.m. start at Legacy Elementary. Miners Day will conclude with an evening concert and fireworks display. American Idol Auditions — Denver
Think you have what it takes to be the next American Idol? Then prove it at the American Idol open auditions and you could be cast on the new season of the show. Auditions will be held at the Colorado Convention Center on Friday. Applicants must be 15 to 28 years old and a legal resident of the United States. OktoberWest — Steamboat Springs
The 10th Annual OktoberWest returns this weekend to beautiful Steamboat Springs. The event kicks off with a beer stroll through downtown on Friday night. The festival on Saturday at Steamboat Mountain Village will have over 40 Rocky Mountain craft brewers, a beef brisket cook-off and a free concert by Euforquestra. Telluride Blues & Brews Festival — Telluride
The 25th Annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival is a three-day celebration of blues, funk, jam bands, indie, rock, gospel and soul music. This weekend's music lineup includes Robert Plant & the Sensational Space Shifters, Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite, Gov't Mule, Booker T's Stax Revue, JJ Grey & Mofro, Anders Osborne and many more. Colorfest — Pagosa Springs
Pagosa Springs' Colorfest begins Friday night with the sold-out Pagosa Wine and Food Festival. A mass balloon ascension is set for Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. with over 40 balloons lifting off over the Pagosa Lakes area. The 3rd Annual Breakfast with Balloons offers a gourmet breakfast, champagne mimosas and live music overlooking the rising balloons from the amphitheater in Centennial Park. The 5K Color Run & Walk on Saturday will be a color-filled adventure for runners starting Saturday at 8 a.m. As the sun sets Saturday, the annual balloon glow will accompany the Bands & Brews Festival in Town Park. Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad — Antonito
Are you ready to see the Colorado "Gold Rush"? Hop aboard the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad this weekend to see the spectacular autumn colors. The railroad travels through several different ecological zones at different elevations, including low meadows and up the top of 10,015-foot Cumbres Pass, so you're sure to see some beautiful aspens. Rio Grande Scenic Railroad — Alamosa & Fort Garland
Another option for Colorado fall-color-watching is the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad. From the train you'll see the rich gold of aspen trees contrasted against green pines, rugged rocks and blue skies. Passengers will be treated to appetizers and have access to a full service bar. There will also be two staged photo locations on the trip to help you capture the perfect snapshot. Journey to Westeros with the live Game of Thrones concert experience. Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi brings the epic arena tour to Denver this weekend. The concert features an 80-piece orchestra and choir which perform highlights from the series' musical score complete with LED wall screens and 3D stage designs. Fritzler Farm Park — LaSalle
Fall begins this weekend at Colorado's original and premier corn maze. Fritzler Farm Park opens for the 2018 season beginning Saturday with over 15 attractions, in addition to its famous corn maze. There will be pedal go-carts, paintball, a pumpkin patch, volleyball, human foosball, corn box, barnyard ball toss, slide mountain, a beer garden and more. Erie Biscuit Day — Erie
The Erie Historical Society will hold its 16th Annual Erie Biscuit Day on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Attendees will receive two biscuits, two sausages, sausage gravy and a choice of coffee, milk or juice for $8. A smaller portion is offered for $5. In addition to this comfort-food classic, the event features a cake walk, raffle drawing, craft booths, historic photos and live music from the popular Highway 66 Bluegrass Consortium and dance from Celtic Steps Irish Dance. Held annually in towns across the country, the Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's aims to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Denver's City Park will be home to a walk this Saturday morning. If you're looking to catch some fall colors this weekend, consider the drive along the Upper Rio Grand towards Creede. The drive is full of red, gold and yellow landscapes and leads to the "Cruisin' the Canyon Fall Color Truck, Motorcycle & Car Show." Downtown Creede will have dozens of vintage vehicles from across the region. Saturday's car show opens at 9 a.m. with an awards show at 3 p.m. After the car show will be a Rod Run to North Creek Falls Overlook followed by burgers at Freemons' Store. Also taking place this weekend in Creede is the “Along the Silver Thread” quilt show, which takes place every two years.
Terry Fator — Denver
Las Vegas staple Terry Fator is bringing his comedy show to Colorado. Fator will perform at the Bellco Theatre at the Colorado Convention Center on Saturday with proceeds benefiting The Zarlengo Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports schools and programs for children with learning disabilities in and around the Denver community. TEDxBoulder — Boulder

Runners have been working all summer for races like Sunday's Equinox Half Marathon and 5 Mile. The Denver Jazz Festival is a three-day festival of amazing jazz, blues and tango music. The Improvised Shakespeare Co. — Denver
The Improvised Shakespeare Company begins an engagement at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts' Garner Galleria Theatre this weekend. Each night, the company will create a fully improvised Shakespearean masterpiece right before the audience's eyes. The evening of hilarious off-the-cuff comedy uses the language and themes of William Shakespeare, but with no planning, rehearsal or script. Will the play turn out to be a tragedy, comedy or history? Even the actors aren't sure. The company's engagement begins Thursday and continues through September 30 with tickets sold at DenverCenter.org.
Northern Colorado Truck & Tractor Pull — Greeley
The NoCo Truck and Tractor Pull delivers horse power, churning dirt and diesel smoke in an event that drives fans wild. With ten classes of pulling excitement, including small block, big block, pro stock, super stock, mods, 4x4, 2WD and mini rods, and food and cold beer, there is something for everyone. Holly Berry Folk Art Festival — Colorado Springs
The 40th Annual Holly Berry House Folk Art Festival returns to Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site in Garden of the Gods. The festival, which runs Friday to Sunday, features the works of 165 juried artisans from across the country. In addition to fine crafts, one-of-a-kind collectibles, fine art and collectibles, there will be food, music and historic tours.

Aspen Ruggerfest — Aspen
The 51st Annual Aspen Ruggerfest runs from Thursday to Sunday. This four-day rugby tournament hosts between 30 and 40 teams at Aspen's Wagner Park. There is no charge to watch the action as fans come from afar to watch and enjoy Aspen's stores, hotels, restaurants and bars at the end of each day. Great Bicycle Carnival — Colorado Springs
The Great Bicycle Carnival is a free family bicycle event in Colorado Springs on Saturday. There will be six starting locations that all end at Mid-Shooks Run Park for an afternoon of music, games and family picnic-ing. The bicycle rides, hosted by Kids on Bikes, range from 1.5 to 5.8 miles long. The rides will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Great Bicycle Carnival registration is available online.
Colorado Rapids vs. Atlanta United FC — Commerce City

Pawtoberfest — Colorado Springs
Pawtoberfest is a dog-friendly festival with craft brews, spirits tasting, a 2-mile dog walk, more than 75 vendors, music, agility demonstrations, pet contests, family-friendly activities and local food trucks. The event takes place Saturday at Colorado Springs' Bear Creek Regional Park. Pawtoberfest brings animal lovers and dogs together to help Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region care for thousands of lost, abandoned, abused and unwanted pets, giving them a second chance at finding a forever home. Kathleen Battle — Denver
Legendary soprano Kathleen Battle will perform for one night only at Denver's Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Battle, a five-time Grammy Award winner, will perform a program of songs inspired by the Underground Railroad. The performance from the Metropolitan Opera star is presented by Denver Arts & Venues, Opera Colorado, and Newman Center for the Performing Arts. The concert is set for Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at AXS.com.
Historic Homes Tour — Fort Collins
The annual Historic Homes Tour in Fort Collins is this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Poudre Landmark Foundation will open six private residences and two historic city-owned properties to tour guests. The homes on this year's tour were built between 1879 and 1960 and represent Victorian, Craftsman, Cottage and National styles. Tickets are $30 on Saturday or $25 online.
Pedal The Plains — Kiowa, Bennett, Limon
Pedal The Plains is a three-day bicycle tour though Colorado's countryside. Day 1 of the tour travels from Kiowa to Bennett, day 2 from Bennett to Limon and day 3 from Limon back to Kiowa. Pedal The Plains is more than a bicycle tour, however. There will be live music, beer gardens, delicious food, educational exhibits and country fun. Funny Girl — Evergreen
Ovation West Musical Theatre's newest production opens Friday at Center Stage in Evergreen. Funny Girl is the story of comedian Fanny Brice, from her start in vaudeville to her unlikely success in the Ziegfeld Follies. Made famous by the Barbra Streisand movie musical, Funny Girl has the iconic numbers "People Who Need People" and "Don't Rain On My Parade." All Saint's Church in Brush is turning 100 years old this weekend. The church was established by Danish immigrant Jens Madsen who, after contracting tuberculosis, settled in Colorado and also created the Eben Ezer tuberculosis sanitarium (now the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center). The church will hold its Centennial Celebration this weekend with harpists, cemetery tours with live actors, museum tours, organ concerts and more. All Saint's Church is located at 122 Hospital Road.
Mineral, Fossil, Gem & Jewelry Show — Denver
This is weekend two for the largest mineral, fossil, gem and jewelry show in the country. The Denver Show is five mineral, fossil, gem and jewelry shows in one and fills 500,000 square feet of the Denver Coliseum and National Western Complex. Nearly 500 dealers are selling mineral specimens, fossils, dinosaurs, gems, gemstones, lapidary, cabochons, artisan and antique jewelry, beads, crystals, meteorites, metaphysical, gold, silver, turquoise, Native American items, interior decor, metal art, miner’s rough, tools, supplies and more. Organizers say to expect to spend most of the day here because there is so much to see. The event and parking are free. The show is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Sunday.

A gem and mineral show will also be at the Denver Mart this weekend. The Denver Gem & Mineral Show will have speakers and experts for a more in-depth look at the worlds of minerals, fossils, meteorites, and gemstones. This year's theme is "Minerals of Mexico" and nearly 100 exhibits will feature the latest mineral and fossil finds from around the world. Hops and Hot Rods Benefit Car Show — Fort Collins
The Biergarten at Anheuser-Busch Fort Collins will host the 3rd Annual Hops and Hot Rods Benefit Car Show on Saturday. The show will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will benefit the United Way of Larimer County.
