AURORA - The Aurora Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Unit are looking for a 16-year-old who was last seen on July 15.

Lashaya Nae Stine was last seen at 2:30 a.m. in the area of East Montview Boulevard and Peoria Street in northwest Aurora.

Her family has not seen or heard from her.

At a press conference her mother, Sabrina Jones, fought back tears as she begged for her daughter’s safe return.

“I just want my baby girl back, and if somebody is preventing that please I’m begging you please," Jones said.

Lashaya is described as black, 5-feet 6-inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. She has long, black hair, brown eyes and a quarter-size round scar on her chest.

She was last seen wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, black stone wash jeans. She usually wears a silver watch on her left arm.

Aurora Police Chief Nick Metz said search crews have been scouring the area where Lashaya was last seen for the past few days. He says his department is treating the case as a top priority.

“We have received information that has caused us to have greater concern for her safety. We’re really asking if anybody may have seen something, or if they see something in the future please let us know right away,” Metz said.

Metz said police are examining video of Lashaya taken at the time of her disappearance to help figure out who she was with.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
