KUSA — A person is dead and three others injured after a Sunday afternoon shooting outside an Aurora 7-Eleven near Interstate 225, police said.

The shooting happened on the southwest corner of Alameda Avenue and Potomac Street - just to the west of I-225 - at 1:38 p.m., according to Aurora Police Department Officer Kenneth Forrest.

Officers were called to a local hospital after being told several victims had gone there for treatment of apparent gunshot wounds, according to Aurora PD. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Two of the victims -- an adult and a juvenile -- had only suffered graze wounds, Forrest said. Another victim was admitted, but expected to survive.

No suspect is in custody for the shooting and no firm details on the number of injured victims were readily available from police.

Major Crimes detectives with Aurora PD have taken over the investigation and are "working tirelessly" to identify who is responsible for the shooting. Anyone with information on this attack are asked to call Detective Chad Lampson at 303-739-6013. To remain anonymous and receive a possible cash reward, please call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.

The 7-Eleven in question is in front of a shopping complex with a Dollar Tree, a Harbor Freight and a Scooters Sports Bar.

The identity of the victim will be released at a later time by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office.

A spokesperson for Aurora PD said there is no believed threat to the public at this time.
