DENVER — Denver police are looking for a suspect they say was involved in a shooting that left one person critically injured at an apartment complex in south Denver, Denver Police Department (DPD) Division Chief Joe Montoya said.

Shmone Holmes, 29, is wanted for second-degree assault in connection with the shooting, Denver police said Friday.

Just before 10 p.m. on June 9, police were called to the Summit Ridge Apartments in the 8300 block of Quincy Avenue to investigate a reported shooting. That’s just north of I-225 and east of I-25.

One victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

In a tweet, DPD described the shooting as an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public. An investigation is underway.

Anyone who has information on where Holmes might be is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
