A man and a woman are in custody after hitting a patrol car in a stolen vehicle.

WESTMINSTER, Colo. — Westminster Police have two people in custody early Tuesday morning after being led on a pursuit along Sheridan Boulevard.

According to Sergeant Trevor Materasso with Westminster Police, officers spotted a stolen vehicle along 120th Avenue and attempted a traffic stop.

The driver of the vehicle then hit a patrol car before driving westbound toward Sheridan Boulevard, Sergeant Materasso said.

According to Materasso, officers attempted to deflate the tires of the suspect vehicle using "stop sticks" near 104th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard.

Officers also attempted a precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver when the stolen vehicle was at 94th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard, according to Materasso.

Sergeant Materasso told 9NEWS that a man and a woman were taken into custody when the vehicle came to a stop at West 92nd Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard.

The man, who was driving at the time, may face charges in connection with the vehicle theft and eluding police officers.
