3 smash-and-grabs reported in Northglenn

Three businesses in Northglenn are the latest in the metro area to fall victim to smash-and-grab type burglaries, according to a release from police.

NORTHGLENN — Three businesses in Northglenn were victims of smash-and-grab incidents early Tuesday morning, according to a release from the police department.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary in the area of East 120th Avenue and Claude Court around 3 a.m. When they arrived they found a business had been broken into. Officers later responded to the same area for a second burglary. Neither business was named in the release.

About a half hour later, officers were dispatched to another burglary in the 400 block of East 120th Avenue. The front doors of all three businesses were smashed and the cash registers were broken into.

Smash-and-grab incidents have been reported in numerous other metro area cities in recent weeks including Arvada, Denver, Parker and Jefferson County. Denver Police said in total, there have been about 100 smash-and-grabs in the metro area since the summer.
