John Moran, the public defender representing Redwine, was arrested on July 21.

According to an arrest affidavit, Moran's ex-girlfriend told police she had gone to his home earlier that evening and he had assaulted her.

The woman said she was sitting in a chair on Moran's back porch when the pair began arguing. At some point, the affidavit says Moran pushed her chair, knocking both it and the woman off the porch and onto the ground.

While she was on the ground, the affidavit says the woman began to scream for people walking past to help. She told police Moran sprayed her with a hose to get her to stop.

She then left Moran's house, the affidavit says.

The woman bruised her arm and told police she thought she may have gotten a concussion as she hit her head in the fall.

The arrest affidavit says Moran appeared intoxicated when he was taken into custody at his home.

He is facing charges of third-degree assault and domestic violence.
