Fire officials need help to identify Aurora restaurant arson suspect

The suspect in the arson of the El Pelicano Restaurant caused more than $250,000 in damages, Aurora Fire Rescue said.

AURORA, Colo. — Fire officials need the public's help in identifying an arson suspect who caused more than $250,000 in damages to an Aurora restaurant. 

The man is a suspect in an arson on Sept. 30 at around 3:30 a.m. at the El Pelicano Restaurant near Colfax Avenue and Chambers Road. 

Aurora Fire Rescue provided photos of the man suspected in the arson. He is described as wearing a dark green flannel shirt, jeans and dark shoes with a white toecap.

Aurora fire officials need help identifying a man suspected in restaurant arson.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or visit metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000. 

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
