KUSA – An Aurora man faces murder charges for allegedly leaving his father beaten and covered in blood at a home in Westminster.

The victim, identified as 68-year-old Robert Beamer, died at the hospital.

His son, 37-year-old Jason Beamer, was charged with first-degree murder after deliberation, first-degree assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury, felony menacing and one count of violent crime as a sentence enhancer.

He was formally advised of his charges for the Nov. 17 incident on Tuesday, the Adams County District Attorney announced.

Westminster Police found Robert Beamer at 7250 Newton Street after receiving a 911 call. There's no word yet on who contacted authorities, or what the motive was for the alleged crime.

Jason Beamer is set to appear in court again on Jan. 15.
