An Aurora man will spend 63 years in prison for the death of his father who was left beaten and covered in blood at a home in Westminster in 2015, according to a release from the 17th Judicial District in Adams and Broomfield Counties.
Adams County District Judge Sharon Holbrook handed down the sentence for 40-year-old Jason Paul Beamer on Monday.
Westminster police were called to a home in the 7200 block of Newton Street on Nov. 17, 2015 to find Robert Beamer, 68, brutally beaten and suffering from multiple rib and facial fractures. He also sustained severe injuries to his brain, according to the release.
Robert Beamer was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital and later died from his injuries.
His son was convicted of second-degree murder and menacing in October. Jason Beamer had also pleaded guilty to second-degree assault of a peace officer in a separate case, the release said.
