Man dies after shooting in southeast Aurora

A suspect who fled the scene was later arrested for the shooting. Now, police are investigating what led up to the incident.

AURORA, Colo. — The Aurora Police Department (APD) is investigating a shooting that left a man dead in southeast Aurora on Easter Sunday.

At about 8:26 p.m., police received several reports about a disturbance and then a shooting that took place at the Sonoma Resort Apartments in the 22300 block of East Ontario Drive.

When officers arrived on scene, they located an 18-year-old man, later identified as Sir'Sedric Donavan Gregg, suffering from a gunshot wound, APD said. Gregg died a short time later. 

The Arapahoe County coroner's office said Gregg had been shot in the head.

Police said the suspect fled the scene following the shooting but later returned to the apartment and was taken into custody. 

The suspect has been identified as 20-year-old Donovan Anthony Brown. Police did not say which charges he faces. 

Investigators are still working to determine what led up to the shooting.
