Boulder boy says man approached him, offered $25 to get into white van

BOULDER, Colo. — The Boulder Police Department is looking for a child enticement suspect after a 9-year-old boy told police he was riding his bike in a park when a man stopped him and offered $25 for him to get into his white van.

The incident happened on June 20 at around 8:40 p.m., according to the release. The man in the van told the child he would “drive him around the block and take him home,” the release says.

The boy said he took off on his bike and went home.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned Hispanic man who spoke with a Spanish accent. Police said he is 40 years old, with black “buzzed” hair, brown eyes and a goatee. At the time of the incident, the boy said the man was wearing a Vans off-the-wall camouflage hat with meshing in the back. He has “wavy” green and red hat tattoos on his arm, according to the release.

He is believed to be driving an older model white van with sliding doors.
