BOULDER — Police are searching for a sexual assault suspect after a woman awoke Friday morning to a stranger in her bed who was attempting to have sex with her, according to the Boulder Police Department.

At about 4:30 a.m. on September 14, police were called to an apartment located in the 1200 block of College Avenue to investigate a sexual assault.

The victim woke up to a man in her bed who was trying to have sex with her, police said. At some point, the woman was able to get the suspect to leave, and contacted police.

A preliminary investigation suggests the suspect entered the woman's apartment through an unlocked door.

Police describe the suspect as a light skinned black man. He was wearing a white T-shirt with an unknown logo and khaki pants at the time.
