SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — A Colorado man was arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) after troopers found him to be in possession of a rifle, several firearm components and drug paraphernalia, according to NSP.
Micah Cameron, 38, of Highlands Ranch, was in his Toyota van, which was parked on the shoulder of Interstate 80 with what appeared to be vehicle trouble in Kimball County, NSP said in a release.
When troopers contacted Cameron, they discovered that Cameron was in possession of a firearm, NSP said. Troopers also learned that Cameron is prohibited from possessing a firearm, according to NSP.
While troopers were attempting to take Cameron into custody, Cameron threw a glass object against the ground, NSP said. Troopers determined that it was drug paraphernalia that possibly contained methamphetamine, according to NSP.
Troopers searched the van and found a rifle and several firearm components, NSP said in the release.
Cameron was arrested for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, NSP said. Cameron was booked in Kimball County Jail.
