A federal grand jury has indicted two Denver men for firearms offenses after they allegedly sold multiple unregistered weapons – including machine guns and silencers – to undercover ATF agents.
Jose Trujillo and Andres Luna II have been charged with possession of unregistered firearms and possession of machine guns. Luna was also charged with distribution of methamphetamine and being a felon in possession of firearms, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Prosecutors said Luna and Trujillo sold multiple firearms without serial numbers to undercover agents in July, August and October of this year. They were taken into custody in November, and indicted on Dec. 4.
The two men were targeted as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, an initiative that brings together multiple federal and local agencies.
