DENVER — Two deputies are out of the hospital after an incident involving an inmate at Denver's Downtown Detention Center.
Few details have been released. According to a spokesperson for the Denver Sheriff Department, an inmate assaulted one of the deputies at around 9:20 Saturday morning. Another deputy was injured while responding to the incident, but he was not assaulted by the inmate.
Both deputies were taken to Denver Health and have since been released.
The inmate was arrested for assault on a peace officer. A spokesperson for the Denver Police Department says he will not be identified until Monday.
