Reward increased to $10,000 for tips in fatal shooting in Denver

Vaughn Anderson was shot Jan. 12 near 21st and Lawrence streets in Denver. No arrests have been made.

DENVER — Metro Denver Crime Stoppers increased the reward to up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest in a fatal shooting Jan. 12 near 21st and Lawrence streets in Denver.

The victim was identified as 29-year-old Vaughn Anderson. Denver Police said the shooting happened about 7:30 p.m., and Anderson was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

No arrests have been made.

Anderson had been living in Denver for about five months before the shooting and was unhoused. 

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or visit metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $10,000.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
