Eaton Police officers shot man after responding to dispute, sheriff's office says

When the man shot at officers they returned fire hitting him, the Weld County Sheriff's Office said.

EATON, Colorado — A man was shot after Eaton Police Department (EPD) officers responded to a disturbance call in the 1200 block of Aspen Court early Friday, according to the Weld County Sheriff's Office (WCSO).

At about 1:28 a.m. Eaton police officers were dispatched to the area for reports of an argument between a man and a woman, WCSO said.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a man who was armed with a gun, according to WCSO.

The man fired multiple shots at officers who returned fire, hitting the man, WCSO said.

The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries, according to WCSO.

The two EPD officers who responded to the call were not injured, WCSO said.
