Deputies are investigating a threat made toward an employee at Gunnison High School on Thursday morning.

In a press release, Gunnison County Government said the suspect is an employee of the Gunnison RE1J School District.

The release said the employee, Patrick Robinson, went into Gunnison High School shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday and made "threatening statements that caused alarm."

He was later arrested near his home in Gunnison County, police said.

School officials said Robinson has been a district employee since 2001.

The nature of the threat is still unclear.

Robinson was booked into jail on charges of interfering with an educational institution, a misdemeanor. His bond is set at $1,500.

All schools in Gunnison Watershed School District were placed on lockout as a precaution, but those lockouts have been lifted.
