A 21-year-old man has been arrested and booked into Weld County Jail for sexual assault on a child, according to the Evans Police Department.
Naun Ernesto Joya-Valesquez is being held on suspicion of sexually assaulting an extended family member who is 6 years old, police said.
Evans police officers were dispatched to the area of the 700 block of 38th Street at about 1:40 a.m. on Monday for a reported sex assault.
The family told officers when they arrived that the suspect had left the home. Officers later found the suspect, Joya-Valesquez, in the area, Evans Police said.
Evans Police would not share further information about the exact relationship between Joya-Valesquez and the alleged victim.
Evans is located about 60 miles north of Denver.
