JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is asking for help to identify a man accused of punching another man in the face in what deputies described as an unprovoked attack.

A man, wearing a plaid shirt, punched the victim with a closed fist during a concert at Red Rock Amphitheatre on Aug. 16, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff's office. The band Joe Russo's Almost Dead was performing that night.

The assault occurred between music sets at approximately 9:45 p.m. in the third row, close to center stage, the sheriff's office said. The victim was seriously hurt and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The sheriff's office provided video of the suspect, but he could only be described as a white man, about 6 feet tall with dark hair that was cut very short.
