KUSA – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man whose body was found in the trunk of a car last week after a U.S. Marshal noticed an odor and called police.

Dean Wallis, 51, had been reported missing on May 9, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

His body was found Thursday evening in the trunk of a car parked at 3505 S. Nelson Circle in Lakewood. The U.S. Marshal was in the area looking for Wallis because he had violated parole.
