COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — A pair of suspects are on the run after a home invasion and a hammer attack in Commerce City Sunday morning, law enforcement said.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office said they were investigating a home invasion in the 7900 block of Ivywood Street in Commerce City just after 7:30 a.m.

Detectives said the male victim is awake and talking to medical professionals after being taken to the North Suburban Medical Center.

There are two suspects in the attack, the Adams County Sheriff's Office announced on Twitter after talking to witnesses. One suspect wore a mask, is believed to be 6-foot and 240 pounds. The other suspect is in his 20s.

Both are men, according to the Sheriff's Office. Both took off from the scene in the victim's grey 2005 Porsche Cayenne.

That vehicle was recovered on Sunday afternoon in Aurora, the sheriff's office tweeted, but the suspects are still at large.
