DENVER — The Auraria campus was put on lockdown around 9 p.m. Thursday while police searched for a stabbing suspect.

Denver police said the stabbing happened near Federal Boulevard and Howard Place.

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Their condition is not known at this time.

The Auraria campus was placed on lockdown "out of an abundance of caution." The lockdown was lifted just before 10:30 p.m.

Auraria tweeted that the wanted person is a Hispanic male and weighs 250-300 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black t-shirt, jean shorts, white socks and had on a black backpack.
