The suspect in a hit-and-run crash that left a person dead and part of Colorado Boulevard closed for hours was arrested Monday night after he was found naked in a lake in City Park.

The man, identified as 25-year-old Tyler White, is from Tennessee and came to Denver to find a job, according to Denver Police.

He was wanted after a wreck that happened on southbound Colorado Boulevard near Interstate 70 at around 6:40 p.m.

Police say White was headed south on Colorado when he hit a Prius, killing that driver. This set off a chain reaction, and the Prius hit another vehicle, which in turn hit another. One of those drivers was injured, but not seriously.

Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash, investigators say.

White ran away from the wreck, according to Denver Police. Though initial reports say White got into another vehicle and fled, police said during a news conference Tuesday morning this may not be the case.

Police say White was found in a lake at City Park less than three hours later. He was naked at the time.

It’s unknown why he was in the lake, though investigators do believe drugs or alcohol may have been involved.

The woman who died in the wreck has not yet been identified.

Denver Police are asking anyone who may have picked up White last night to contact them.
