AURORA, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a security guard shot and wounded an armed man who tried to rob an armored vehicle at an Aurora bank.
The Aurora Sentinel reports that FBI Denver spokeswoman Deborah Sherman says a 38-year-old man had tried to hold up a Brinks truck parked outside the bank Monday.
She says the security guard exchanged gunfire with the man, who was injured in the shootout and fled the scene on foot.
Aurora police tracked down the suspect and took him into custody. He was treated at a hospital for injuries that were not life threatening.
The FBI's Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force will take over the investigation from Aurora police.
Sherman says the suspect will face state and possibly federal charges.
